Meet Tay Davis, INSTANDA’s North America Delivery Lead

What do you do in your current role?

As the North America Delivery Lead, I oversee client projects from start to finish. My typical day involves assisting in the sales cycle (such as reviewing proposals and providing overviews of our delivery methodology). Throughout the day, I collaborate with my team on priorities and solutions to delivery issues. I'm also constantly picking up cues on refining processes for smoother operations. And the best part? Witnessing project launches and their successes. It's a fulfilling routine of problem-solving and teamwork.

What led you to this career?

I've always been a curious soul, fascinated by how things work – especially when it involves people, processes, and technology. Strategy, planning and execution? That's my favorite. I ended up in this role by leaning into my curiosity about how people, process, and technology work together in different industries and my knack for turning goals into actionable plans.

What attracted you to INSTANDA?

I’ve always been drawn to smaller companies (start-ups and early growth stage) where I can leverage my skills in organizing chaos and sliding into different roles to give the team and company that extra energy of success.

What’s one thing that surprised you about working at INSTANDA when you joined?

When I joined INSTANDA, I was completely taken aback by how welcoming everyone was. The ease of assimilating with the team was like slipping into a comfy pair of shoes – effortless and instantly fitting. It felt like I had been a part of the gang for ages, and that sense of belonging was a fantastic surprise!

Tell us about your career progression within INSTANDA

I’ve been with INSTANDA for 18 months, 10 months as an FTE. I started off as a contractor brought in to implement and enforce project management governance on client delivery projects and assist with challenging implementations.

What project are you most proud of in your work to date?

I am most proud of the marine insurance project we implemented in 4 weeks last November. The team took the accelerated timeline in stride and tackled the project head-on. The success of this project was proof that with the right team and governance in place, projects can be delivered on time, within budget and with a client beaming with satisfaction.

What do you enjoy most about working here?

I get to team up with some seriously talented folks! Work-life balance isn't just a catchphrase here; it's the real deal. But that's not all – the camaraderie is off the charts. Even though we're spread across remote locations, we're like a tight-knit crew that's always up for lending a hand. It's like the best of both worlds – expertise and that warm fuzzy feeling.

If a new starter asked you for advice in their first month of being here, what would say?

Dive in headfirst! You were picked for a reason, so let that confidence shine. Start making waves from the get-go – no time like the present. And here's a pro tip: reach out to folks across different corners of the company. They're the secret vaults of knowledge about how each piece fits into the big INSTANDA puzzle. It's like getting a backstage pass to the whole show!

When you're not working, what are you doing?

After work, I switch gears for some hands-on fun. I enjoy making and baking. My latest creation was building a sliding barn door in a chevron pattern from scrape cedar boards for my son’s clubhouse. I also love cooking, particularly making breads and sweets. Both are like a cozy, creative escape from the daily grind.
